We are looking to have a diverse team of carers who can work with a diverse range of clients – you may be a younger person looking for a opportunities to develop and climb the career ladder, a parent looking for part time hours which work round school, a retired person looking to return to community work or an active senior who has their own personal experiences of care.



You will need to have:


  • Excellent social, communication and listening skills

  • Ability to support service users in a manner that is non-judgemental, respects their dignity and promotes their independence, choices and privacy

  • Ability to use own initiative and willing to seek guidance when required

  • Numeracy skills

  • Ability to keep written records in paper and online form in clear English

  • Two references, at least one of whom is your most recent employer

  • A Disclosure Scotland PVG check, discussed upon application

  • Work in accordance with 1st Focus Homecare policies and procedures and the SSSC Code of Practice


In addition we particularly welcome applicants who have:


  • Experience of paid or unpaid care or community work

  • A full driving license and reliable car

  • Level 2 or 3 SVQ in Social and Healthcare or equivalent desirable and enhanced salary will be offered for these qualifications.

  • Enhanced understanding of issues particular to our sector including dementia care and end of life care.
